Self Help Classes

Self help classes (SH classes) impart the basis of Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) in theory and practice for daily application on ourselves. Taught by self help instructors (look for SH instructors in your area under - JSJ in the state), they range from studying SH books 1 - 3, practice groups and special theme classes.

"Jin Shin Jyutsu - The Art of Getting to Know-help-myself "

A self help class is a very good opportunity to learn the Art and its benefits. The basics of Jin Shin Jyutsu will be acquired and put into practice. The participants are introduced to the 26 Safety Energy Locks (SEL), their location on the body and their meaning. We explore different ways of harmonizing with the help of our hands and learn some “energy flow patterns” for daily use. The meaning of fingers and toes for harmonizing will also be explained.

Mary Burmeister wrote three self help books, and a Self Help class is dedicated to each one of them. These classes allow for the basic study of JSJ and there is no prerequisite to attend such a class. We recommend to take the classes in order.

Practice groups and practice days are a wonderful addition to Self Help classes. Here you can use and expand the knowledge you have acquired in class. There is no previous knowledge necessary for SH practice days or groups, yet some basic understanding would be of benefit.

SH - Book 1

Basics of Jin Shin Jyutsu SH for elimination of daily tensions, harmonizing the body,  the effects of emotions and thoughts (worry, fear, anger….) General sequences for daily “energy supply” to eliminate blockages due to stress. In general a 2 day seminar.

SH - Book 2

An introduction to the 26 SEL’s and their location on the body. You will learn about quality of numbers and their deeper meaning. In general a 2 day seminar.

SH - Book 3

This book focuses on awareness and understanding of fingers, hands, toes and feet. Let yourself experience the simplicity as well as the complexity of JSJ. In general a 2 day seminar.

Practice Groups

Practice groups help to apply what you have learned in SH classes or a 5-day class in small groups. You experience the harmonizing Art on yourself and on each other with one or two other participants. Most groups meet periodically.

Practice Days

A time to recharge, experience peacefulness, relax, regenerate, unwind, feel joy for life and motivation. The focus lies on experiencing, discovering, feeling and learning JSJ for ourselves and with others. You will benefit from basic knowledge. 1 or 2 day seminars.
